Visited Vestre today

We visited Vestre today, which is Denmark's center-right party. The biggest party in Denmark.

The party has 16 full time staff. An annual budget of about $6 million dollars, most of it funded by the state. That is their total budget for the entire country. Smaller than a senate race in the US?

Denmark has a 3 week election cycle. The prime minister calls the election, and then in 3 weeks it happens. I get the impression that this is a very busy time. :) Political television advertising is *not* allowed, so costs are kept down.

Edna says send an e-mail to Governer Pawlenty and see if he would propose a similar process in Minnesota, what a refreshing change that would be! We are getting lots of snow, no school today. Love Dad

McCain announced last night on David Letterman that he is running for president. Sure wish that the US process was only 3 weeks and had no TV ads. There is something about the presidential race every day and the election isn't for another 2 years! It just goes on and on and on and on! AUGH! They all love to hear themselves talk is what I think and the press are just itching for a "juicy" story.
This morning in AZ they already have polls showing how McC. would do in the election. Just who did they ask in the middle of the night is my question?!
Thanks for the updates as it gives me a reason to walk over to the library and of course, the knowledge that you impart is greatly appreciated!!
